Daniel 6:1-28, 2 Peter 3:1-18, Psalm 119:129-152, Proverbs 28:21-22

Pray: Dear Lord, I pray that You would give me strength to be strong for You in the world today. Lord, You know the struggles that I will face today. Be with me as I go through them. Carry me if I am too weak to move. If I stumble in them, forgive me Father. When I succeed in them, I will praise You! You are worthy of all praise and honor. Amen.

Read: I love this story from Daniel today! It’s a classic from my childhood and possibly one of the strongest testimonies of trusting God in Scripture. Daniel in the Lion’s Den! Daniel is thrown into the lion’s den for being a man of God and praying, in spite of a law forbidding it. While the king did try to figure out a way to keep Daniel from going to the lion’s den, he could not. While in the den, God sent an angel to shut the mouths of the lions to once again demonstrate that He was the almighty and all-powerful God that Daniel had proclaimed Him to be.  When Daniel was removed from the lion’s den, the king gave praise to God and issued a new decree that all should “tremble with fear before the God of Daniel”

Edify: People all over the world are struggling to answer the question, “When will the world come to an end?” Some have even ventured guesses that they claim were based on historical and even biblical data. The reality is that we don’t know when the end of time will be, but we do know that we are living in the last days. The last days are nothing more than the time in between Jesus’ first coming and His second coming. It is our role as followers of Christ to live lives that are in line with the way that God has called us to live and to believe that He will return as He promised.

Practice: May we all live into Proverbs 28:23 today… “people appreciate frankness more than flattery.” When we tell the truth in love it is always better than trying to sugar coat things.
